Understanding dynamic scenes based on human sequence evaluation

چکیده
In this paper, a Cognitive Vision System (CVS) is presented, which explains the human behaviour of monitored scenes using naturallanguage texts. This cognitive analysis of human movements recorded in image sequences is here referred to as Human Sequence Evaluation (HSE) which defines a set of transformation modules involved in the automatic generation of semantic descriptions from pixel values. In essence, the trajectories of human agents are obtained to generate textual interpretations of their motion, and also to infer the conceptual relationships of each agent w.r.t. its environment. For this purpose, a human behaviour model based on Situation Graph Trees (SGTs) is considered, which permits both bottom-up (hypothesis generation) and top-down (hypothesis refinement) analysis of dynamic scenes. The resulting system prototype interprets different kinds of behaviour and reports textual descriptions in multiple languages. 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Statistical Background Modeling Based on Velocity and Orientation of Moving Objects
Background modeling is an important step in moving object detection and tracking. In this paper, we propose a new statistical approach in which, a sequence of frames are selected according to velocity and direction of some moving objects and then an initial background is modeled, based on the detection of gray pixel's value changes. To have used this sequence of frames, no estimator or distribu...
متن کاملD3: Recognizing dynamic scenes with deep dual descriptor based on key frames and key segments
Recognizing dynamic scenes is one of the fundamental problems in scene understanding, which categorizes moving scenes such as a forest fire, landslide, or avalanche. While existing methods focus on reliable capturing of static and dynamic information, few works have explored frame selection from a dynamic scene sequence. In this paper, we propose dynamic scene recognition using a deep dual desc...
متن کاملEvaluation of the Humanity Research Paradigms based on Analysis of Human – Environment Interaction
As claimed by many behavioral scientists, designing should be based on the knowledge of interaction between human and environment. Environmental quality is also created in the context in which humans interact with their environment. To achieve such quality, designers should develop appropriate models for explaining this relationship, and this requires an understanding of human nature and the en...
متن کاملTranslation and Hybridity in Scenes and Frames Semantics
The present study is a theoretical attempt to illustrate how Fillmore's Scenes and Frames Semantics (SFS) could be employed as a framework to portray the process of understanding and translating hybrid texts. It first reviews the origin of SFS; then it maps SFS onto Nida’s linguistic model of translation process and the Interpretive Theory of Translation; it examines in the next section, withi...
متن کاملPerceptual evaluation of tone mapping operators with real-world scenes
A number of successful tone mapping operators for contrast compression have been proposed due to the need to visualize high dynamic range (HDR) images on low dynamic range devices. They were inspired by fields as diverse as image processing, photographic practice, and modeling of the human visual systems (HVS). The variety of approaches calls for a systematic perceptual evaluation of their perf...
